I.P.Pavlova 5 office building in Prague, was awarded BREEAM In-Use sustainability certificate with rating Very Good
Kapitel continues to invest in reducing the ecological footprint of its real estate portfolio –I.P.Pavlova 5 office building in Prague was awarded the international BREEAM In-Use sustainability certificate with rating Very Good. It is a quality label that confirms the building’s low environmental impact, its human-friendly design and the high quality of the additional services and working environment.
“Since acquiring the building in 2017, Kapitel has continuously invested in improving building’s working environment, services and reducing its ecological footprint. For example, we have renovated all common areas of the office building, replaced existing fluorescent lighting with LED lights, created landscaped and furnished roof terrace with Wi-Fi connection, and bicycle storage with washing facilities on the parking level. In the coming years, we will be making major investments in technical systems to further improve the building’s user-friendliness. The received sustainability certificate and full occupancy of the building shows we have made the right choices. We will continue with the same approach in all Kapitel’s future office buildings in Prague,” said Holger Tilk, Head of Investment at Kapitel and executive director of Kapitel s.r.o.
As part of the BREEAM sustainability certification process, I.P.Pavlova 5 office building, located in a prestigious area of Prague’s city centre on one of the city’s hot spots, was assessed in eight categories: users health and well-being, water and energy consumption, transport connections, waste management, security, building solutions, land use and environmental impact. As a result of the certification process, the office building was awarded the BREEAM In-Use sustainability certificate with rating Very Good. The certification process was carried out by ENVIROS s.r.o.
As of now two office buildings in Kapitel portfolio – I.P.Pavlova 5 office building in Prague and Sõpruse Ärimaja office building in Tallinn – have received BREEAM In-Use sustainability certificate with rating Very Good. Kapitel office building Narbuto 5 in Vilnius has been awarded BREEAM In-Design certificate with rating Very Good, which confirms that the building was designed and built according to sustainable principles. This year, Kapitel will begin the certification process for Delta Plaza in Tallinn.
Kapitel has designed both office buildings under construction, Arter quarter in Tallinn and the Elemental Skanste in Riga, to BREEAM New Construction sustainability certificate with the rating Excellent.
