E.L.L. Kinnisvara’s shopping centres were visited by over 39 million people in 2014
E.L.L. Kinnisvara’s real estate portfolio includes Panorama shopping centre in Vilnius, Spice and Spice Home shopping centres in Riga, Saules Miestas shopping centre in Šiauliai, and Viru Keskus shopping centre in Tallinn, which were visited in 2014 by more than 39 million people, who made 27 million purchases. The five shopping centres have a combined total of 148,000 m2 of retail space for lease and 550 tenants.
The shopping centres continued to strengthen their positions in 2014. In the Panorama shopping centre, located in Vilnius, 14 new shops opened their doors, including H&M, H&M Home, Stefanel, McGregor, McNeal, and Fam Club. In addition, 14 other shops updated their concept and shopping environment. New service providers included an optics shop, beauty salon and beauty clinic. Based on the increased demand for healthy foods, three pop-up eateries opened. The centre has also continued with the process of updating itself in 2015 – in the spring, three high-class restaurants were opened, along with an SEB bank branch employing a new concept.
The Spice shopping centre, located in Riga, substantially increased its selection of goods in 2014. In the spring, H&M and Latvia’s first branch of the Debenhams department store opened their doors. The selection of fashions was complemented by the addition of Weekend MaxMara, Pierre Cardin, Esprit, U.S, Polo, Liu Jo, Marc Cain, Armani Jeans, Wolford, and Love Moschino shops.
In 2014, the Spice Home shopping centre won the gold medal in the PR category of the European Marketing Awards competition with its Housewife Olympics event. The competition, organised by the International Council of Shopping Centers, recognises the most innovative and effective marketing and PR campaigns. The Spice Home shopping centre is the only shopping centre in Eastern Europe and the Baltics to have earned this valuable recognition.
In 2015, the interior design of select shops in the Spice and Spice Home shopping centres will be updated, and new trademarks will be brought to Latvian consumers. Already open are the first Samsung mobile accessories shop, a shop specialising in Apple products, a shop based on a new concept and belonging to Latvia’s largest mobile operator LMT, a modern health centre, and a medical supply shop. Also opening their first shops in Latvia are fashion brand Michael Kors and the children’s brand Imaginarium.
Saules Miestas remains the most visited shopping centre in the Lithuanian town of Šiauliai. In addition to the wide selection of goods and services, the Sun Terrace, located on the roof of the shopping centre, has helped the shopping centre maintain its leading position. The Sun Terrace is visited each summer by nearly 500,000 people and has become an important entertainment and leisure time spot for local residents. In 2014, the Saules Miestas shopping centre also expanded its selection of shops.
