Viru Keskus, a meeting place for fashion lovers, is located in the heart of Tallinn, a few hundred metres from the Old Town. The centre houses more than 100 shops and service points, including cafes and restaurants, the largest retail area in the Baltics for jewellery and beauty products, a bookstore recognised as one of the best in the world, a sports club, and the Kaubamaja Toidumaailm supermarket with its updated design. The city bus terminal is under the centre, and there is also a parking garage for 390 vehicles that includes an electric car charging area.
The current renovation of the centre will be completed in 2022 and will give the centre a new look and feel. Viru Keskus has so far been awarded the only LEED Platinum certificate in Estonia for operating and managing an existing building.
Viru Centre is located on two properties: Viru väljak 4 and Viru väljak 6. Kapitel AS owns 50% of the joint venture Viru Väljaku Arenduse AS, which owns the part of Viru Keskus located at Viru väljak 6.
