The reconstruction of the Spice Home shopping centre in Riga has begun, bringing significant changes to the centre’s layout and a complete interior renovation. The project includes the redevelopment of 12,000 m², with a total investment of 11 million euros. The reconstruction is now underway and will be completed by Q1 2027, with new stores opening step by step throughout the project. Reconstruction works will take place without interrupting the centre’s operations – Spice Home will continue to operate as usual, with no changes to opening hours.
“The Spice Home shopping centre has become outdated and needs transformation. During the reconstruction, it will gain a modern interior and an improved selection of stores that meet the needs of today’s shoppers,” says Iveta Priedīte, Director of Spice and Spice Home, adding that the goal is to create an inspiring environment for both employees and visitors.
The new development phase of Spice Home began earlier this year with the openings of the most modern Decathlon store in the Baltics alongside with Sinsay, a family-oriented fashion brand offering current trends at affordable prices. To improve mobility, a new parking area and bicycle stands have also been built next to the centre. In addition, a modern sports ground has been created for active recreation, leisure activities, and testing sports equipment for residents of the surrounding neighbourhood.
During the reconstruction, Entrance B will be relocated, making it more accessible and visible to visitors. Escalators and elevators will also be rebuilt to improve access to the second-floor stores, and more energy-efficient ventilation systems and lighting will be installed. Restroom facilities will be expanded, a family room will be created, and the centre’s interior and façade will be fully renovated.
